How to throw a Christmas Party?

Let's find out tonight!
Peter and I are going to see Brown Feather Sparrow & Friends in dB's, Utrecht. I am curious!
I have talked about the project on this blog before, namely here.

But I also made a video blog about it. Check it out here.

I normally do not like video blogs (I refuse to call it a vlog) so much (it's just people talking about themselves), but I am going to try and keep it up, mainly talking about music. If you think it's boring, don't watch.

OK, gotta go now. Off to Rotterdam!

i piss Myself off on a daily basis.

Today in my Periods & Genres class, we discussed Bruce Nauman and his video art reminded me of Bas Jan Ader's art projects.
Ever since I have seen this video, some years ago, it made quite an impression on me.
I am too sad to tell you.

So yeah, another sign of life.
I am busy.

there's nothing here to Discover.

Here is a photo of the French writer Victor Hugo (he wrote the Hunchback of the Notre Dame) on his death-bed. The picture is made by the late 19th century photographer/novelist/caricaturist/balloonist/journalist Gaspar-Félix Tournachon, also known as Félix Nadar.
I think this is an amazing picture, especially the composition and the lighting. I also think it is quite interesting and somewhat morbid to shoot somebody on his death-bed, but still, there is an element of sereneness to it, that attracts me to it.

This post was just meant to show you a sign of life.

i'm very glad to see in this Moonlit, cloudy night; the stars are all out of sight.

I would like to call your attendion to this great project from Brown Feather Sparrow (And Friends): many amazing Dutch artists [from the alternative scene, that is] collaborated to produce a Christmas record.
I think it is funny and very thoughtful that the record is not per se a Christian one, but it is open for a religious interpretation [or the other way around] and that is what Christmas is about. About religion, family and friends; not about the presents.

Listen to 'December Radio' and make up your mind.
Personally, this song perfectly sums up my feelings about the December holidays [yes, I am really principled about this].

The whole record is available for free. You only have to click here.
Enjoy!

ch-ch-ch-changes.

Dearest readers,

I am about to announce a change.
You might have noticed that some months ago, I already changed the title of my blog from Fun Lovin' Culture Junk into Tattoos on Your Brain. The html stayed the same though.
Now, that is about to change, too.

A week from now, I will change the html from http://fun-lovin-culturejunk.blogspot.com to http://tattoos-on-your-brain.blogspot.com

Thought I'd share.

Yours truly,

B.L.B.

Portrait of a Chesterfield Chair of My Mother.

I would like to own this chair. For the sake of morbidity.

Design by Gunnar Aagaard Andersen.
He proved how cool scandinavians are. Again.

P.S. Mom, this is the chair I told you about. I know you're reading me.

Gickr helps you to pimp your myspace
The 'xxx' in my neck is not real, but I would love to have a tattoo like that overthere.

&I just realized that this weblog got really egocentric. When you scroll down there are only pictures of me and I do not like that.
Next post will revolve around somebody else.

Riley and I are buddies.

you and I are deep Sea divers on a task.

I am sorry guys, the lack of posting is due to a life-distroying institute called AUC. Midterms are coming up, so I am superbusy! Sorry.
Hope you enjoy this tiny piece of inspiration.

There will be more when midterms are over.
For the rest you can check out my journal I keep for Periods & Genres class here: benine_lalala.

Do you know that demonstration I went to? It turned into a riot?

Yeah, that's right. It became mean on Friday, when we were demonstrating against the squatting ban that went in 1st of October.
I have not made my mind up about the whole happening, but it certainly was an experience.

it's true.

It's true. I really love coffee.
And I need it, because I have to make a dead line for my Text & Artefacts class. It's interesting, but it requires hard work.
Sorry for the lack of posts guys. I haven't really done anything interesting, made any good pictures or wore anything I really want to show you...
Don't worry, it will all come back to me!
By the way, I did make a Lookbook account. I am still a little ashamed of it, so when I am ready I will post a link. ;P

i'm such a mensch in My clothes, but my plans are criminal.

Wednesday Amsterdam University College [AUC] celebrated its first birthday, the so-called 'Dies Natalis' [which is a fancy, Latin word for birthday/Geburtstag/anniversaire. Yes, I speak my languages well]. There was a formal dress code, so [almost] everybody dressed up très chique.
It was really nice and some friends and I decided that we should have formal Fridays, instead of casual Fridays.

Anyway, it was a good opportunity to wear my dress that I bought in Toulouse last June.
I wasn't really sure how to wear it, but I ended up with the tights and the highest heels [2nd picture].

Dress - Criminal Damage//bag - Pieces//rings and hair bow - h&m//shoes, left - ??//shoes, right - New Look.
